Background

Lori Jo McCullough is a Pennsylvania swim coach and has written of an ebook and printed book for high school swim coaches seeking to a season's worth of practices in a USRPT (ultra short race pace training) format.

The book is selling with Amazon as of August, 2020:

  • Buyers can get an ebook on Kindle, and/or
  • printed (on demand) via Amazon too.

Mark Rauterkus has published a number of swim workout books in the past and was one of the volunteer editors with Lori Jo's manuscript. We have been internet friends for some years and Lori Jo and her daughter even attended a Pittsburgh event, Saturday Swim School, when she was being recruited to local colleges (CMU). Now swims for DI's St. Francis, PA.

Lori Jo, with a UK partner, is the founder / owner of a Facebook group on Swim Coach Race Pace Training Exchange (with 7.1K members, August 30, 2020).

Outline of duties and responsibilities:

#1. The Facebook group devoted to Race Pace Training is going to allow the ISCA site, Read.SwimISCA.org, to serve as a sanctioned archive on the web.

  • With cooperation and value added services, all benefit. Membership of the Facebook group can grow, and membership in ISCA can grow.
  • That we're going to make BEST OF summary web pages of the FB group and reposition the content within the ISCA Library site -- with a new GROUP / Course.
  • The content is going to stay FREE, as in no charge to get to it.
  • The content from the Race Pace Training is going to be made available only to those who are in the group with a special quiz to gain entry.
  • The content published on Read.SwimISCA.org will get parallel published in both the Facebook Group AND reside in the web pages for easier reading / summary.
  • We'll deploy a few #HASHTAGS to help this along.
  • The respective content flows, #hashtags and how to best contribute are explained within the course, Roadmap for Swim Coaches at Read.SwimISCA.org.
  • This archive and co-promotion alliance between ISCA and the Race Pace Training Facebook Group is similar to the one desired with the SCIEG.

#2. Author, Lori Jo, is going to supply the latest version of the book's files, via a Google Drive document.

  • ISCA can re-format the content. ISCA's webmaster will build off of that file and release an ISCA branded version(s) of the ebook / course / lessons. So, we can evolve the content in the products.

#3. This is a non-exclusive deal with ISCA. The author can still sell what is already happening.

  • In a way, perhaps, these could be competing products. Oh well.
  • ISCA will NOT print a hard-copy version of the book. ISCA's efforts are for ebooks and course / lessons.

#4. Lori Jo's USRPT title is sold in by ISCA and ISCA pays no less than $6 per unit sold, to the author, paid monthly.

  • We'll run sales via SendOwl so that the order details / reports are clearly visible for accounting.
  • Of course the author can promote ISCA branded products, or not.
  • The author can also realize additional income with the affiliate sales too as part of the SendOwl system. Jori Jo has signed up as an ISCA affiliate with SendOwl.
#5. Relationships: ISCA will build up some promotional effort, doing interviews / podcasts, etc.
  • ISCA web pages, upsells, newsletter mentions, hopefully a clinic speaker presentation if desired, etc.
  • The first interview interest is from Suzanne Atkinson, triathlon coach. She does webinars / podcasts.
  • We'll seek to collaborate on lesson materials. Love to get the warm-up routine documented. Some content can go into the Global Library for ISCA Members, but some will go into our pending groups.Hope to launch a quarterly, Rookie Swim Coaches Master Mind Group, at Read.SwimISCA.org.

Building:

What do you do with mentors and teacher's helpers? Have a LD course, $X. Also have a LD Group, $X+Y. Students buy into the LD Group for a season. LD Group shows the LD Course too, plus some extra hand-holding / value added. What do you do with mentors? We want to have some super-users assist with the LD Group. ??
