sports manifesto, every four years

Like the Olympics, a sports manifesto blooms every four years. I feel Olympic-moment pressure with this presentation as high-level discussions seem to be reserved to four-year intervals. Past to present recap: +++++ Around 16 years ago I was on the PPS' Parent Engagement Resource Center's steering committee (lead by Donna V.). Pool usage was a low priority then too. ++++ More than a dozen years ago, in John Thompson's era, we heard a promise that the next collective bargaining agreement with the PFT would not include sports coaches. That didn't happen. +++ About eight years ago, in Mark Roosevelt's era, I helped to instigate the PPS Athletic Reform Task Force. ++ My last-scheduled meeting about PPS athletics was four-years ago. That one-on-one meeting with Dara Ware Allen began with her observation that she had not read my position paper, the impetus for the meeting. Plus, she dismissed others from attending. All promised follow ups never happened. Administrators may or may not have read what was delivered, but PPS board members did. Some spoke of it in public meetings. That position paper, with 38 suggestions, was later credited for saving sports in city. (Bill S). + In 2018, I hope to enliven newly-sanctioned PPS-Sports-Reform discussions as part of the PPS Community Schools calendar. The 2017 PPS Community Schools meetings and committees work has been witnessed and I did attended a few site meetings at the Arsenal.
